It’s important to note that the Platinum coverage is exclusionary coverage, which means it covers all assemblies of your vehicle unless they are specifically listed under the Exclusions section of your contract.

The Powertrain coverage is specifically designed to help provide protection for the most crucial components of a vehicle’s propulsion system. This type of contract covers the engine, transmission, and other vital parts that contribute to the vehicle’s movement.

Important Legal Information
Under Powertrain and Gold coverages, any part that is not specifically listed as covered under the coverage selected.
Under Platinum coverage, any of the following parts: brake shoes, brake drums and rotors, disc brake pads, all manually operated clutch components including the clutch friction disc, pressure plate, pilot bearing, throw-out bearing and arm, air bags, solar powered devices, glass, lenses, body parts and/or panels, weather stripping, trim, moldings, tires, wheels, all batteries except hybrid/ev/hydrogen high voltage batteries as listed under Gold, light bulbs, upholstery, paint, bright metal, freeze plugs, filters (unless required in conjunction with a mechanical breakdown), heater and radiator hoses, exhaust system, catalytic converter, shock absorbers, work such as front-end alignment or wheel balancing (except when required in conjunction with a mechanical breakdown), safety restraint systems, audio/security or other systems not factory installed, or vinyl and convertible tops.
This optional Vehicle Service Plan will not pay or reimburse for mechanical breakdowns caused by misuse, abuse, negligence (including the negligence of any repair facility), improper towing, lack of maintenance of the failed covered part, contamination, damage as the result of continued operation with an overheat condition, lack of coolant or lubricants, lack of oil viscosity, sludge, restricted oil flow, salt, rust and rust damage, environmental damage or chemicals. No payment or reimbursement for the correction of oil consumption, repair of worn rings, or any repairs for reduction in engine efficiency that must be performed on your vehicle when a Mechanical Breakdown has not occurred.
Replacement parts utilized in connection with a mechanical breakdown will be, at the discretion of FWS, new or remanufactured OEM parts or used parts that meet the quality standards of the repair facility or FWS.
The product being offered is a Vehicle Service Plan and is separate and distinct from any product or service warranty which may be provided by the manufacturer, importer, or seller.

5. Service contract transferable to another owner, but not to another vehicle. Additionally, the service contract may not be transferred to any entity in the business of selling or leasing motor vehicles.
6. Roadside Assistance is not available on Vehicle Service Plans sold at dealerships located in California. These plans will receive towing coverage where you will be reimbursed up to $100 per covered mechanical breakdown for towing expenses incurred from a towing company, if required due to a covered mechanical breakdown.
7. When repairs are required, return your vehicle to the selling dealer, if possible. If you cannot return your vehicle to the selling dealer, you must call 1-800-327-5172 during normal working hours. Prior authorization is required prior to having the vehicle repaired.
8. To make a claim under this service contract you must provide teardown authorization when requested. We are not obligated to reimburse you for teardown costs if the repairs are not covered under the service contract.
